Hi,

Now before you ream me for my post I would like to explain.

My red tail cat has been growing at an incredible rate. He started eating fish in the tank that I have been collecting for two years including one geophagus abalios. Hes turning out to be an expensive catfish. He is now 13" and I removed him from my 180 gallon tank and put him in my 10gallon quarantine tank. How long can he stay in there before I have to remove him? I have been trying to sell him with little luck but I hate to just give him up to a pet store and see him put in a 10 gallon tank there. I might as well have him if thats the case, until I find a better home. Any suggestions?

PS: I am in the NYC area and if your interested I dropped the price to $50 and that is firm.

Larry

Good Luck selling the RTC! They are tank busters for 90% of us!! 10 gallon? My god man!

10g is way too small for a quarantine tank or a temporary home man, im sorry to say but its true...hes probably so stressed right now and is wanting to jump out

its like putting you in a VW beetle trunk and seeing how much u like it

& if you give him to your pet store they will not put him in a 10g...they'll probably put him in one of the biggest tanks they have

^^ haha

^ same thing happened with my old tigershovel nose and they put it in a 10 gallon tank.. Id say its more like putting me in the trunk of a lincoln towncar

now you know to research before you buy bro , in the stickies they tell you not to keep them with any fish that will fit in their mouth .

I agree with clown knife and you should take it to a pet store

I bought the RTC when it was 2". My cichlids have not grown nearly as fast as the RTC. They have not even grown an inch since the RTC has gained 11". I was hoping it was enough time for them all to grow into each other but i guess I was terribly wrong. As ya'll are pointing out. Thanks for the advice cakilla. I may have no other choice. My friend was wanting to take him off my hands but he has not filled his 250 gal yet. I was hoping to give him to a good home (bigger then my own tank)

Why even get a RTC if you don't do the research to find out more about it...anyone with some common sense would know they'll eat anything that can fit in their mouths.
