showing off there red tail catfish they just got for there dads cichlid tank?

honestly no one under 18 should have MONSTER fish. they dont have the resources or funds to keep them. yea there might be one or 2 with rich parents that have them but that doesnt mean they should.
so why are we changing this forum to conform to children?
whats next? the text is goin to be in crayon?
and anyone who calls someone else a poopy head is goin to the mods office???

How about you hit refresh and realize where you are at.... this is a website dedicating to keeping fish, not catering to what ever you want to post, when ever you want to post it.. If you don't like keeping this site about fish and anything not related to fish to be PG, log out and don't come back, your trolling anyway. Suggesting no one under 18 y/o should not be keeping fish is down right stupid... This hobby is great for our younger generation to stay out of trouble and find something constructive to do besides drugs etc.. Who do you suggest that we listen to? Do we listen to the people complaining about topics going too far or should we listen to the trolls crying because their thread got closed or they were infracted? I would much rather cater to the young person trying to learn and or/contribute than you complain about what ever got you fired up.

As usual, the staff will be the bad guys for doing what we have been tasked with doing, no well get it off your chest, I won't be losing any sleep.. I can only imagine what kind of thread you would have posted if we made a publicly personal attack on you like you have here against the staff...

Who are you to say who can and cannot keep fish and in turn belong to a website? What about the 18+ year old members that make a joke of this hobby? Are we going to ban them too?

You've been a member here since April 2010. The family focus was in place long before you joined. Nothing has changed other than a few faces.

On a second note, why is it that people can't act with a bit of dignity. Why is it expected that we should open the door for crude and unnecessary behavior just because some people think it's funny. I'll admit that I enjoy a good laugh now and then, but why does everything have to toe the line of indecency? It is acceptable to be polite and considerate every now and then. If you're looking for somewhere to post dirty pictures, use foul language and be inconsiderate, there are plenty of other forum options out there.

As I say every time one of these topics some up..... This site is about coming together and sharing monster passion about this hobby. It is open to everyone, young or old. Why should we turn away hundreds of members so that a few members can post junk that is unrelated to the purpose and vision of this site?

I'll repeat it so it is clear. This site is about having MONSTER passion for the hobby. It has nothing to do with what size fish you keep. We welcome everyone.

Lets hear your master plan to change things? The very least you can do after posting this is offer something constructive to help.

TBH, two infractions within six months of joining is nothing to brag about.

I started out on the fish forums as a younger lad in the predatory fish days, and have learned a bit along the way. As far as banning children, I think that's kind of a dumb idea. There is no age range for ignorance. The easiest thing to do is ignore people that annoy you, and try to act with some courtesy and respect.

Very well put Arthur. People can say what they want about the youngsters but they aren't the ones posting disrepectful things like this thread.

I got in trouble once for saying "effing" in the Wal-Mart thread I did once... which is ridicoulous IMO... had I said the 'real' word, then that would have been a whole different story... I said it outta my crazy passion..

I find it odd that 'douche' is acceptable, especially when it is clearly used to reference another human being...

I personally love the word 'douche', but if family friendly is what Li is striving for... 'douche' does not fit the bill.

and it was a Mod, that clearly stated it was ok... don't remember which thread that was though... the Mod describe it to be acceptable because of it's actual function... which, sure that's great... but the word 'douche' when used here on the forum is not being referenced as a vaginal cleanser.. it's flat out name calling...
