if you want it to stay fish focused why even have this subforum?? if you wanted to only talk about fish then this post wouldnt even have a place on here.
and jk im not a mod im not even saying i should be or that i know what to do. im voicing my opinion so that you guys whith the red names can maybe listen and do whatever you can to help us the members out.
n balton im not bragging im just sayin i am not ranting bc of a mod closing a thread or givin me an infraction.
i just noticed you lived in texas lol
we need some sub forums for states so that people that dont live in socal can maybe get together easier. there ya go jk that an idea lol
 
personally, I have nothing against younger visitors to this forum. For me, I think the real problem with this site would be the over moderation by a select few people with bad attitudes.

kev im kinda with you. kids piss me off at times but i think its awesome if they are here to learn from members and not to show off. but its when we are controlling what people say so they dont read what they hear on a daily basis or read on facebook. i mean honestly i think the news is dirtier than this site.
this reminds me of the family guy episode when the fcc was beeping out burps and farts lol

Again, how do you propose we make changes that help? I hardy think adding a Texas subforum is going to help improve things. You've contributed nothing with this thread that is a trolling rant besides being disrespectful to the staff.. Have things improved now? Slamming the staff is the best way to NOT get your point across.
 
Well let me chime in here.

First and foremost, I totally disagree with the OP on the kids should not keep monster fish. I can assure you that my son caleb who is 7 is very acutely watching what I do and has SWORN to me that he is going to keep a monster fish. He actually has picked a few of mine and claimed them as his own. When I do my fish room in my basement I will most probably set him up a plywood 500g tank and let him choose the fish that goes in. So far as tank maintenance is concerned he is a smart little guy (as are all children to bad adults like to dumb them down to make themselves smarter) and he is more than able to reproduce the very simple techiques I have develooped for keeping fish.

I agree that there is a bit of immaturity that goes on here, yet, I do not agree that said immaturity is restricted to youth.

Also if this site became something that people were free and clear to conduct themselves in a 18+ manner without reproach, I for one would saddly have to quit this forum as reprobate conduct is not becoming of a human being. As well, most 18+ conduct is at the very best degrading to women in a high degree.

On another side of the issue there is this. How do you think immature people who might not know how to properly care for monster fish will come to have the knowledge of how to do so? I think it might very well be from forums such as this.

In finishing, I have 8 kids with 1 coming around Jan 10 and they are often looking over my shoulder and there are things I would the rather they not see or read which is why I am glad that this forum is put forth with a family friendly though process. Also 2 of my kids have their own accounts here, not so active, but they do peruse the forum on their own.
 
Didn't your mother ever tell you not to be a Taddle Tell?? I mean really!!!??... Whaaaa someone called me a name, over the internet, and now my heart hurts and I'm teary eyed... oh and I'll never see this person in my whole entire lifetime... but I'm sensitive and cranky!! < my sarcasm!!!

Anyway... be more selective about what you (anyone) complain about... suck it up!!!

i just wanted to get my opinion out and see who agreed with me.
but i think state sub forums would be very helpfull
bc most people cant ship so i spend an hour looking thro socal no shipping sale threads every day
im sure alot of people do the same thing. it would help members find eachother and work to gether to improve the hobby. it would be cool to have fish meets here in texas. i only knew of 2 people in texas on this site and i am finding more now like one a week. it would be cool to jion and have a sub forum where you can find people close to you.
