With as much as I enjoy the Lounge, I'd vote to see it go. Too much time wasted between everyone when we could be having conversations about keeping fish. You try to provide an area where people can have a little fun and of course, someone has to push that envelope to see how much they can get away with. This is a fish site. If you want adult conversations, post your opinions, rants and rave on Facebook. If I really feel the need to stare at half-naked women, I'll go to one of the many 18+ sites dedicated to just that.

I'd say the fish forums cause just as much, if not more, problems. I see more heated discussions, flaming, trolling and drama in the fish forums than I do in the Lounge. I'm not a mod so I don't see it all, but that's just been my experience.

I think what Pharaoh is trying to say is we have to keep up with both currently. If the lounge goes from a place to have off topic fun to a staff bashing festival there is no reason to keep it. There is far too much of that lately, I would vote it go too. The lounge has far more reported posts than any other section, rarely does anything reported in the other sections result in infractions/bans to the degree the lounge does, for the record.
 
I am done with this topic. I just got a new Reeflo pump delivered this morning and am going to sump my 120g. Join me over in the setup/filtration section when you guys are ready to get back to talking fish :)
 
I agree with the mod about voting away with the "lounge" as it really doesn't have anything to do with fish, and more often than not, the posts are pretty politically incorrect, this one included.
I find it highly entertaining that there are still two avatars still being used in this same thread that aren't exactly family friendly.

I am sure that the Lounge wastes a lot of time for the moderators who would much rather just read the "normal" posts related to fish.

i cannot believe that you have the nerve to start a thread like this..and i cannot believe that the same few of you would make your wise guy comments.. we just went through all of this not one week ago.. we do not make these rules up.. they are passed down for us to follow.. we do what we are told... that is more then i can say for you who continue to annoy and bust chops.. the fishkeeping forum is for everyone...............EVERYONE ... from the child starting out to the retired person just getting into the hobby because he finally has time to do something he always wanted to do.. it is not just monsterkeepers... it is monster attitude... if you do not accept each and every person from all walks of life no matter what their age,sex or financial status the fish keeping hobby will die.. or at least never prosper... and that is the same as with a forum... so this is a family forum... if you don't like it .. leave.
 
I like the lounge but people still have to realize if you don't like the rules... there are other forums out there with alot less restrictions.

As far as the Texas sub forum... they is a Texas thread somewhere that in the last year only got a few posts(not very active) a sub forum would be a waste.

50% of the fights I see are people fighting over tank size vs fish size, then next are general complaints like this.
 
I agree 100% with this... I think because i got an infraction it wont let me upload pics anymore, so 3 of my fish died because I couldnt put pics up to have you guys let me no what you thought was wrong with them. I think this because as soon as i got an infraction it wouldnt let me upload anymore :(

Infractions shouldn't have anything to do with the photo uploads. I know that some users are having trouble with uploading.
