I will chime in and say u should stick to less aggressive cichlids. I said to look at rainbow cichlids and you should really think about them. When i saw the pick of your pearsi it didnt look at all so it makes me wonder what caused its death
Asian upside down catfish are far more aggressive than the fish i menchened. and i am getting femaleshow did the upside down catfish stress the pearsi to the point of death i thought you said you pulled him out and moved him to another tank in a different thread that you had on the pearsi?.. my friend im sorry but from the past threads that i have seen your posts on i would say first make sure you have the fish keeping 101 down pact and then move on from there. Maybe start off with ONE pair of CONVICTS or such and then switch up your stock from there. If you cant manage aggression between a catfish and a pearsi how are you going to handle aggression between 3-5 different fish if all hell starts letting loose? If you indeed did not move out the catfish when you saw him stressing the pearsi then either go with a single wet pet or maybe try less aggressive fish or more peaceful cichlids. Im not trying to sound mean i would just hate to see more fish die for no other reason then being uninformed and not doing your homework before hand. You had a beautiful Pearsi then IMO could have been saved in the hands of someone knowledgable.
The pearsei got so stressed from the aggressive catfish. That he could not fight off parasites and he became emo.I will chime in and say u should stick to less aggressive cichlids. my pearsei was super happy and helthy and i kept up with the tank maintenance this whole think started when i introduced the catfishmy sentiments exactly aquamonster IMO there was no reason that pearsi should have passed. AND from the posts the OP has made it doesnt sound like he understands all the basics of tank keeping 101 in the first place. I would just hate to see more fish die when its not needed =(
Female convict and female firemouth are not that aggressive. Anyway i love the rainbow cichlid i am getting one!!!I will chime in and say u should stick to less aggressive cichlids. the pearsei commited emo and i did evrything i couldIf you've seen some of the rescue fish on here some people have brought back from near death you would say your fish shouldnt have died. Anyone who keeps aggressive fish has to know how to care for injured and stressed fish because it comes with the territory with keeping these fish. I'm not telling you that you dont know what your doing but i myself am always brushing up on things just so i dont have to look them up when a fish gets beat
on.
bps are not that big ten inchers are rare and this only happens with abnormal parents they uassaly get five to six inchesIf you are going to keep the two BP I would only add some tertras and a few corys or a BNP but that's it for a 60 gallon tank. Those BP's can get some decent size on them and will fill a small tank. Better off keeping it simple untill you can upgrade. That's what I would do in your situation.
