I doubt these will sway you but they're my yound barred midas pair from years ago. They were grandkids of Cichlid scenes bighead.

same pair a few weeks prior to breeding. Notice the nuchal humps and how they reduced once breeding took place.

I got a pair of Isletas from Rapps, last month, the male is 5 inches and the most feisty little glass banger if you put your face up to the tank he backs up wags his tail and darts to my face and smacks the glass lol, best little fish ever, if he's like this at 5 inch he is bound to be a lil nasty buger!!!

Breeding pair? Were they a proven pair before you got them or did they pair up?

this thread makes me super pumped for my isletas

It's also making me more and more impatient about ordering mine, but knowing I have to wait until I get the stand for my 75 from the gf's dad.

Apparently he's building it out of solid oak 2x4s and 2x6s, raised panels, stained, canopy... Only charging me for the wood. I just want it to be done today so I can order these bad boys...

@fishman09 - would you recommend a wet pet male or a pair?

In a 75 i think you should do a pair. I may switch my grammodes pair for a isletas pair this coming summer but not too sure about it yet

go for a pair fore sure. wet pets are fun but pairs are awesome to keep. i have 4 in hopes for a pair and one has a larger nuchal hump than my 6" hogs and red devil males.
