I purchased the Tiger Oscar first and it was about 6 inches before I purchased the Red Devil. Now the Red Devil is about 12 inches and the Tiger Oscar is only 10 inches and the Red Devil is torturing the Oscar. I had to put a separating in my tank, but I don't want to keep it because it takes away from the tank and it seems each fish is crammed on one side of the tank. Any suggestions, hints, or tips on what to do? Thank You!

How big is the tank? RDs are typically not tollerant of tank mates in anything under a 125 (again, this isn't ALWAYS, there are exceptions). I think you need to choose between them, as there is no way to "make" them like each other.

The tank is 125 Gallons and the only other fish in the tank is a 4 to 5 inch Jack Dempsey, but the JD is not bothered by either the Oscar or the Red Devil.

125 Gallon Tank.

The JD is not bothered because I don't believe the RD sees him as a threat yet. I'd take back the RD (always remove the aggressor) and then you can add other cichlids in it's place that aren't as aggressive. Personally I'd try a loiselli :)

Sorry my post was late

you have 3 options

1 get rid of either fish
2 get a bigger tank with some other fish dithers and hope for tge best
3 get another tank imo just for the rd and have a comunity with the Oscar.

The RD just keeps going after the Tiger Oscar and the Oscar doesn't even try to defend himself. He just keeps taking shots right on his side by his fin and gills. It only started happening when the RD started to mature, I didn't think the RD would out grow the Tiger Oscar especially since he had a 6 inch head start.

The rd will need a tank for itself as imo its extreamly hard to have tabk mates unless you have a huge tank 300 min
