Jack Dempsey Breeding

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
maybe try to do a 50 percent water change and raise the temp a few degrees? I know this works with many fish and as JD's are ridiculously hardy, it can't hurt...

He's right on the money! I usually keep my breeding pairs tank around 80 degrees and when I was pushing them to breed I'd pack them full of earthworms, do a big w/c, and raise the temp to 84!

Okay just rub it in JK. I have tried all that and I have noticed the they are digging pits none stop but nothing more is happening. The tank used to have a flat bottom but now it looks like a huge wave. The tank is already at 80 degrees but I can try one more w/c.

Could you or anyone post a picture of a female with her egg tube out? I obviously don't know what it looks like on my female because I thought I have saw it multiple times but apparently not.

You most likely don't have a pair anymore.
