Jack Dempsey Breeding

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A thought occured to me while doing some research on why my Jack Dempsey's aren't breeding. They live together and have ever since I got them. Should I remove the female for a week or so and introduce her to the male again? Or would I just mess everything up?

I'd say its worth a try! What have you got to lose!? Maybe they're just too use to each other. At least it could stir things up a bit!

No but I do have an 3-4" Convict but if I were to do this I do not want the Covict to get killed. He was my first convict and he is special to me. I don't really want to see him get hurt either but I guess I could stand to lose one covict as I have thousands.

Yes and I am not exaggerating about it. I would take a picture but camera broke and don't get a new one until my birthday in a few months.

Would I be able to put the two/pair into a 75 with a male midas cichlid and everything be okay. The midas is fairly aggressive and the JD's are not but a buddy of mine said since they are/were a pair they would be able to stand up to him. Is that true?

Send me ur midas and then put them in :P i dont know if this has been said but have u tried conditioning. it seems like ur close but they just dont feel right. whats ur water temp at? how many water changes and how much? what are u feeding? i know how you feel when a pair shows every possible sign of breeding and they get so far only to just stall. it sucks but patience patience patience. im at 5 breeding project right now and im going insane too. :nilly:
