What do you have against airstones?
this is my tank it has background n driftwood (n a tub to weight down driftwood for now) i like the plain classy type look....

Running 2 fx5s n the outlets r on each end with one of outlets shooting at the surface...

That should provide plenty of surface aggitation.
Ok about the cycled part what i did i cycled ALOT of bio media for this tank like about a lil over a month in advance from another tank that been running for more then 6 months...... I tested water yesterday everything was perfect.... I am testing water RIGHT NOW.......

You don't need to use an air pump when you have a power head !!! Just install the air line and if it's too noisy, they sell a filter that you can add to the end of the air line and run it under the stand so you don't hear it sucking air. Plus it will save you some electricity from having to run the air pump.
As mentioned, you don't need an airstone or airline. Bubbles don't do anything for the tank until they rise to the top and break at the surface. If you have sufficient surface agitation from your FX5 outputs, you are fine on oxygen.
