ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1332089816.278163.jpgsee how it the tips are flat and it's shrunken a lil? Is it because I need to start dosing stuff? I don't think my trace elements are cutting it. was thinking about dosing SMALL amounts of Calcium, Strontium, and iodine? But if I do how much would I dose? Like an actual measurement.

It tells you on the bottles how much to dose. Overdosing isnt gonna hurt unless you REALLY overdose. Strontium is 1ml for 50gals every 4 days and I cant remember what calcium and iodine is. But remember if you use purple up or any other coraline algae supplement you dont need to add calcium because the supplement already has calcium in it.

Sorry for posting so much had to do more research okay so here's the game plan: I'm going to get a test kit for cal, iodine, alk and if the kit has a Strontium test then that to.(it's prob all really low...). Now if it is low how do I got about dosing? What levels are considered "natural coral reef" levels of all of it? If it is low do I add how much it says on the bottle lets just say 1 table spoon per 10gallons? Or how do i go about it?

Thanks before I dose I'll post pics of my reading by Corrine algae and purple up are you talking about brands? Or on the bottles ingredients?

Purple up is a brand of coraline algae supplement, it speeds up the growth. But if you dont use it dont worry about it.

Maybe in the future I will thanks for the heads up. So the plan in to add "marine snow". Since Xenia like the water a bit dirty and my water has no no2 or no3 for them I'll add some in and turn the skimmer back on in an hour. But before I add iodide(Lfs owner recommended it) it says 8 drops per 50g each day so with my tank (assuming my math is right) my tank would need 2 drops a day? not going to mess with the calcium, alk , and stro just yet. He said since my water is clean though my tank would be better suited for hard corals, any opinions on this? I've kept saltwater tanks with fish for a very long time but need less to say I'm new to corals.
And i was thinking of adding one more clown fish to increase to bio load?

Still shrunk maybe even more so now but still pulsing like crazy I'll update in the morning with pics. Also I read dosing
Calcium, & Strontium help a lot? Any opinions on this?

You have softies, so you shouldn't have to dose Calcium, and I would never dose Strontium or Iodine. Strontium and Iodine are both toxic, Iodine shortens the lifespan of inverts, and Strontium slows coral growth, these two "addatives" are the biggest lies in the industry from every scientific paper I have ever read...

So then do you think it is the lack of no2/no3? I won't add anything then but if my calcium was low would it effect softies? So do you think feeding everyday or every other day until they open would work? With 2 gallon water changes every Saturday and do you think adding another clown would help add some bioload?
