Either way I think Zimmerman is a sissy for using a gun on an unarmed kid/man/whatever. Honestly, what makes him any better than any of these little thugs running around that are quick to shoot as soon as they start getting their arse wooped. If this is how the Stand Your Ground law is supposed to work, then it is seriously flawed. If any punk can pick a fight with someone, and wait for them to throw the first punch, just so they can pull out their gun, than there's something wrong here. Even a police officer would have a hard time justifying shooting an unarmed kid. A grown man meeting fist with a firearm, is just wrong IMO, and any gun owners should feel ashamed at this jerks actions. I can't say whether Zimmerman is guilty or innocent of breaking the law here, and it's going to be hard to ever know what really happened, as we'll obviously never hear the other guys story, but I can say that Zimmerman just seems like some trigger happy jerk, who's missing something in life.

race should be left out of it, but he clearly tells the 911 operator that he is black. Why give that info if it didnt affect his actions? I dont get it. I hope they get to the bottom of it all.

The 911 operator operator asked Zimmerman the suspects race to which Martin replied, "he looks black." To me that means Zimmerman couldnt even be 100 percent sure Martin was black therefor race had ZERO factor in this case.

This is a standard 911 operator question. Some media outlets chose to leave out this question when they "released the tapes," which to me is an obvious attempt to heighten the race issue.

As for Z's disregard for the operator "suggesting" that he not engage M. To me it just shows really bad judgement on Z's part. Unless M was actively threatening/damaging someone or something, IMO there was no need to interact with him but I wasn't there.

Nope. Checked that one last week. Mail me one! I've never even seem one until this story

Lol its my mission to find one in Eugene today. Gotta pickup my Kirin Parrots I ordered from Pet Time so will check on West 11. And when I find it I will take a picture of it submerged in one of my tanks lol.

So it was a grape Arizona that he bought at the store?

+1 it's only when you attempt to attach character or the race card when people start jumping to assumptions about martin being a sketchy character or a thug. who cares, i'm positive he wasn't up to anything that deserves him losing his life. no evidence shows he was up to no good that night. we just jump to conclusion based on his facebook pics?

Even if he really was not up to no good, it doesnt matter IF he indeed attacked Zimmerman.

Nemisis, I hate to break it to you but physically most seventeen year olds are not "kids" by any stretch of the imagination and Martin was an example of that. Again in physical terms here. Also some one can kill you just as dead with their bare hands as they can with a weapon so the fact that Martin was unarmed is irrelevant if he was beating Zimmermans head into the sidewalk as is being claimed. Unfortunately Im all too familiar with the fact an unarmed person can kill some one with their bare hands. :( Ironically perhaps is that the person Im talking about was the murderer and is my brother in law. Despite the fact he really is a decent guy now, if his victim had a gun and killed my BIL I think the victim would have been in right to do so. Also my brother in law was seventeen when this happened and just got out of prison a few years ago after ten years.
