Which potamotrygon are in highest demand?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Flower tiger are some of the biggest pota species I realize this and have resources to build bigger. My pond has 500 gallons and is a 4x8 .amount of gallons does not matter. My 1200 or to be correct my 1168 gallon has been constructed to look compact.probably suitable for smaller species but longer term this tank is not big enough.my boesemani has already almost out grown it

With tank size it's knowing your limits
I have seen massive pearls massive tigers massive flower massive motoro and know I would never be able house them for life even in my 8x6x3

I will stick to what I have I have 5 rays in that tank with a few other large preds and I would class it as over stocked

But the water is tip top

Some rays will always be out of my size range

Now that the whole black ray "boom" is long over I'm just wondering what species are captivating the minds of the fellow hobbiests now?
Which rays are people fantasizing about owning or finding ?

When did the black ray boom end ? Or did I miss that thread. lol I would really like to have a pair of snow leopards and and a albino leo. I saw a really really sweeeeeet p-14 on facebook the other day that I would like to have.

About 3 years ago it was peaked

my future rays will be..
pair of TI bds ,
pair of flowers,
male pearl,
male mm,
jag,
falk.

Marbles and pearls for me but I can't really think of a ray I don't like. Retics are probably my least favorite but I have seen some very nice ones that I wouldn't mind owning.

I am with t1 on the size of some of those rays. After seeing some of Trevs monster females in person I could not imagine putting anything like that in a tank that would fit some where in my house. If I had a basement it would be a whole different story

Okay if we are doing species and not hybrids then xingu, flowers, apple, tigers, big spot leos, and then it depends on on the individuals. I`ve seen very few pearls and marbles that are exceptional, but when they are around they are incredible. I haven`t owned enough other species to say more. I like alot of castexi but scared the pattern will fade like most rays when they get older.
