FINALLY! I picked up this little lady for my male kamfa malau.... she has a bit of a kok (which is a bonus). I believe her blood line is pretty good...Red Dragon and Malau mix due to the double script similarity .... not to sure about that though... I have NEVER kept breeding pairs.... so excuse my noob questions. :D

So, please feel free to let me know what you guys think :) OH and my male is only 15cm...she has already been a mother 2-3 times...I will not let him breed with her until another 6 months...to get him up to her size and maturity...

QUESTIONS

1. Does she look healthy? She ate within 5 minutes after I put her in the new tank, after a 1 hour journey. :)

2. How old do you think she might be? I was told around 1-1.5 years old

3. I don't want my male breeding now, and I can see the female digging up a nest...if she lays eggs....do I just remove them when vacuuming?

I love how people know me for "the dude who spent $1k" hahaha... thanks bro... like I said... my male... is very special to me..and Australia... honestly I am not breeding him for any money...just to get this strain to live on here. :) If i had the choice, I would not breed him at all...breeding is VERY dangerous with flowerhorns... so yeah...love him to much for that risk..but then again...when you have the only strain in Australia...you want to keep this blood line alive :)

Any advise on the questions bro?

Sorry for the derailment but where did you get the egg crate from? lfs told me they had to buy it from overseas which costs a pretty penny. nice fl and good luck with breeding

Doing homework ugh.

Her age looks accurate to what the seller said. She looks to be a Red Dragon but she might be ZZmalau. She has a nice amount of red on her and I like the double flowerline she has. Since she is not SB like the male you are gonna see more normal bodied Flowerhorn than shorter. How old is your male?

haha no problem bro.. Egg Crate... actually I got this one of the seller for $10 more... but yeah hard to find them. However, if your in Sydney..go to Trans Aquarium..they sell sheets of egg crates for i think $35 or so, but you would need to cut it up according to the size you require.

My male is around 6 months I believe... or a month here or there. But yeah, believing he is kamfa blood line...research told me ..this group of FH..takes some time to show potential...and to also breed.

And yes the seller did mention she has some malau in her.

Trans Aquarium is in "Canley Vale" ... it is 2 mins from the station.. just gotta cross the road bro... And DO NOT buy fish from that place man...its so dirty... I just went there to get crates... lol not all Sydney LFS is like that :)
