I know its capable of doing 160g and he said that should work especially for the types of fish I have in there

If you are talking about a 2080, then I would not get that :). It is over priced for what it does. BTW, here is a picture of water change...the hose goes outside then add prime then garden hose in...unheated water, the temp in the tank drops 3 degrees initially but the fish don't care.

I don't think it was the 2080. The one I'm looking at is $250 and comes with all the trimmings

This feature is only available in fx5 and the more expensive eheim unfortunately.

I still think for the tank you have, fx5 is your best bet...If you end up with a larger tank, then either do a sump or get the more expensive eheim. I think that is your best value for the money. Not sure about the $250 eheim, maybe it is the replacement of the 2028 which is the filter you see next to the 5 gallon bucket sized 2262 in my setup. Good filter but even for the back flush feature I would get the fx5.

Ive never used the pump to drain water but definatly a handy feature, my window is 1' from the tank so i just water my bushes ALOT every 4 days lol. And they are huge bushes i actually have to trim them way more often then the others, must be the nitrates that help.

Good advice on the fx5 allthough id add a ac110 as a backup and polisher.

Yup was gonna leave them on until I got the canister fill with the bacteria I need then take one off and see how that does and if it does good take the other one off and see then (keep the 400's of course)

What's the ac110

Aquaclear 110, imo best hob on the market, holds 1gal and u can customize what u put in it and they last forever. Mines 7-8 years old and still running like a champ, i use it strictly for MECH filtration to polish off my water, fx5 for bio and coarse filtration.
