Flatheads love bullhead catfish for some reason, even with their pointy fins and what not. I've tryed with limited success, only 1 9lb flat to show for it. I've found that green sunfish just seem to outproduce everything. Fished till 2 am last night, average channel catfish.

Bait fishing has always been fun for me. Dad used to take me anywhere he knew we'd catch alot of fish and could keep me entertained. now some of these places are my favorite places to go catch bait. I will most definitly be passing these memories onto my spawn when that time comes. Bait fishing is one thing that also keeps my girlfriend entertained. She gets bored if we arent catching anything but bluegill fishing will always produce, keeps her interested and gives me the opportunity to go fishing more. I will still fish lures occasionally, usually smaller stuff for whatever is willing to bite. I probably wont be catching any monster LMB or smallies, but on ultralight even an 1 lber can be quite the treat.
Everyone tells me i sound stupid when i tell them i dont have the patience for bass fishing when they know i like to catfish, but truth be told that i catch more catfish then i probably could bass if i tryed to fish lures all day. I cant throw lures all day waiting for a bite, but i can when im waiting for a catfish to bite.

I have to try fishing blue gill on ultra light its probably a lot of fun. That's also how I keep my girlfriend entertained, worms on a bobber. You have a deeper connection with bait fishing and I think that's the most important part about fishing.

Yea, my girl caught a nice 9-10" gill last year that really gave her a run around. as stated "she made that bluegill her *****" after she fought it for like 5 minutes. She was almost more excited about that bluegill then she was her 24lb flathead.
Man you know you have the best girlfriend ever when she's just as excited as u are about fishing Haha. My girlfriend loves it too she caught this 7lb carp she felt like Jeremy wade!!!

never would have guessed a 27" catfish would only be 3-3.5#, probably should get a scale to help me out until I know what I'm doing.
I personal don't care about weight the fight is what matters I've had 2lbrs fight harder then 3lbrs
