WC Kelberi not feeding! Ideas?!

Finally the Kel has decided to eat :) 4x Platys and a Red Eye Tetra!
There is a Snakeskin Gourami in with him but instead of eating that he got over the divider and mauled a 4" Monoculus GRRRRRRRR!
The Mono is still alive but looks a mess :irked:
 
how big is the mono? Congrats on feeding the kel. Blood worms and black worms and krill seems to be a good start to convert off of live. But we are all glad to hear that he is eating.

The Mono is 4" the Kelberi 8-9".
Im not trying to convert him yet just trying to get him eating as he is a new fish.
I have raised many Cichla and Ive had them all feeding on pellets within weeks.
Thanks for the pointers though :)
 
Stick with it Jay, it will be pounding pellets before you know it.

On a side note do your Azul take floating pellets? I got mine to take massivore within a couple of days of picking it up but it still don't seem interested in floating pellets.

They eat anything that hits the water mate including me when I clean the tank lol.
 
17 days and still no interest in food! He did eat 4 platys and a tetra last wk but pissing me rite off now! I have him in the main tank now seperated from the other fish, food (prawns,sprats,worms) drops by him and he just swims off! How stubbern can a fish be???? Grrrrr!!!!
 
I am having the same issue witj my orino he is 6inches amd hasnt eaten anything in a week ive tried frozen bloodworms , frozen krill ,massivore pellets, platies amd all he did was bite at the platies till they died from wounds never actually put them in his mouth or ate any. I dont want him to die

Could be a internal parasite. If I had a fish that hasn't eaten anything for a week a so, I would use prazipro as a cure and as a preventive.
 
Maybe too cold. Up the temp as boosten is eluding to.

Pretty sure mine is just being stubbern. He was in the shop a couple of months feeding on worms and whitefish so I know he is healthy sure he is just pissing me off lol
