High price for azuls and kelberi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I remember those days to. Kelberis were always on my wish list. But I waited till the price dropped on them.
As with Xingu's to. I can honestly say that I'm glad that superlaz and Fugupuff brought them in. We all know the Xingu's are captive bred, but it is damn hard to get them wild. Back in the day the Xingus went for $1200-$1500 for a 15" Xingu. But now, I'm glad that they are only $250 and it seems like there is a steady supply of them coming in.

Maybe this week too, I'm debating getting another one since I just ordered 2 tems and a rio yucao orino thru my lfs. One of my xingus jumped ouut a tiny hole as a juvie, bad day lol.

dangerhack those rio arguaria are f1s that came from aquascape. But they should turn out to be stunners. Im kickn myself for not buying any....along w/ all the previous wc kelberi shipments. When i have $ none are available :( I dont have any complaints about the prices these days. I understand its costs $ to import fish. But i do disagree highly w/ people trying to pass of cb fish as wc.

Uhh I don't.If that person feels that way then who is anyone else to try and tell him otherwise?
Noone tries to tell him otherwise, but he gotta know that the look doesn't dictate the price..

I did breed f1s no one bought them. when I sold the breeding pair he wanted a deal on those. So we the hobbiest are the problem we don't take care of eachother so why would the seller or the importer do something that we don't do for ourseleves.

To answer the OP question $200.00 is the average price for all of W/C collection and I think that was very fair.

Les be serious here 5 years ago it was $1200.00 for a Kelberi and I was told we would never get Azul or Orino.

And all that Gogol talk is another markiting tool to keep you all on the hook. IT MAY HAPPEN ONE DAY BUT by then you will have spent all your money on ugly bahias. lol.

I call bahias duck faces! But yours are nice Ken!

No No i agree with the wild caught prices ..My point was you get two guys that get one of these fish one turns out Beautiful the other Fuggly Why ???? the way it's raised simple!!!!!

You are right for sure!!!

TLC is 80 percent of it Hue... you a show off!! jk ;)

I paid $160 2 months ago for a wild rio arraguia 2" an thought that was. Great deal i remember couple years ago before i got any cichla kels were at least 300$

Sorry bradda but the araguias aren't wild :( on another not, they will be nice..I've seen adult before many years back.. small spanglings on all of their fins but lots of them and they have a great body shape.

Why is it that azuls and kelberi are still so highly priced even though the market is now flooded with each species ?

$125 for 2.5 in fish of either cichla species ?

Kind of high.

I will sell you a 10 inch Colombian Orino for $125 if your interested, and forget about those little buggers:)

I was going to break the news to him through Pm's.

Can you ship?

From DJ/MC Decker
To me, they are one in the same as rio metas.

So what are the orinos w/ all the spangling? I have Rio Meta and we ordered some of the Rio Yucao, but I love the ones I see online that are all spangled up. They remind me of my brokos a bit.

The "spangle" orino's (to me) remindes me of Ven orino's. Ven orino's has not hit the market for a while.....or not that I know of.
