Finally saved up enough to buy my four new Geophagus Altifrons! Now there's the whole "my tank is ugly" thing to worry about. I can't put plants, even when their base is covered in a pile of rocks, the eartheaters still manage to uproot them.

I know the low water level contributes to the ugliness factor, but I can't raise it until I get a new top. Don't want the Bichirs escaping.

Any ideas? I can't stand having an ugly tank.

You should just get some good sized rocks, an it would look perfect. Myabe a background to.

1) background...I like DBN or any other slim line versions....
2) Yes, high waterline. how big is your bichir? egg crates(they have 1x1 holes) are really easy to work with and not too expensive
3) wires on back of the tank...
4) if you have lights for plants maybe tie java ferns on your drift wood
5) I like the asymmetry of the DW, counter balance it on the other side with a few larger rocks at the other end.

I don't want to do a background because I already have a painted black background on the tank, and I like how it looks.

I do like the idea of Java Ferns on the driftwood :) and rocks. Where can I find big rocks?
