Okay, so today I got..I think they're called Peace Lilys? I've heard of people using them...got two of them.
I actually don't mind having the roots showing, I think it would be cool if they wrapped around the driftwood. But will the fish to to eat the roots?
How do I put in the second one, though? From the bottom of the tank to the waterline is the size of the plant, and I plan on filling the tank even higher...any ideas?
Please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong!

Yes those r peace lilies and u can use them and they will reduce nitrates. For placing the second one u can use shower baskets like someone sugested already. smth like this:
As for other plants u can also use golden photos, spider plant and arrowheads. Photos is the name of the plants and that's the wines going down the sides of the tank someone was talking about. Arrowheads also grow the same way.
Bichirs will not climb up the plants onto the eggcrate, if they escape they will escape by jumping through an opening and not by climbing. Ur tank is really starting to look nice. Good luck!
