Yes it reduces nitrates greatly some people even reported their nitrates staying close to zero, can't help u with my own numbers cuz I don't test them.

See post #17 for my setup...Before I did my WC today, my readings were the mythical 0,0,0. and yes, the tank is cycled and heavily loaded.
Okay, so today I got..I think they're called Peace Lilys? I've heard of people using them...got two of them.
I actually don't mind having the roots showing, I think it would be cool if they wrapped around the driftwood. But will the fish to to eat the roots?
How do I put in the second one, though? From the bottom of the tank to the waterline is the size of the plant, and I plan on filling the tank even higher...any ideas?
Please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong!
