I can't stop watching my tank ever since I got the big loaches. The largest taunts me all day long by pulling up to the glass, and then swimming off when I get the camera and go to take a picture for a size measurement. Or just pulling up to the front of the glass head on, like in the video here.

I laugh every time in the last 15 seconds or so with the way the clown looks at me haha.

Very nice loaches. They big ones look really good and seem super active.

I got a long wait till my 10 x 5 inch loaches get the size.

Thanks! They're all pretty active. They spend a lot of time behind the wood piling on each other, but when they come out it's ridiculous. Loach dancing up and down the corners of the tank much to the terror of all the cichlids in the tank. They all get really scared when all the clowns band together and start frantically swimming up and down. It's rather strange.

They will probably grow a lot faster in your tank than "usual" with all that space. You need to do an update on that tank of yours!

It seems that a clown loach reaching 9"+ can take up 5+ years. I just picked up two 9" clown loach that were in the same tank for 5 years in a 55 gallon. There were also two others in that same tank of the same age at 6" and much slimmer. So, it is random for clowns to get a gigantic size, lol. Of course, this is just a matter of opinion and from what I have just experienced.

Correct. If you take a large group of CL's, you will generally find that some grow larger, faster, and some grow much slower. I have seen CL's that are over 15 yrs old, purchased at the same time, at the same size, fed the same foods, in the same tanks, and there was huge differences in some of their size. This can be based on social ranking within the shoal, sex, and probably other factors.

They are crazy! Eating any vegetables?

I tried broccoli once... that was a huge mistake. Little bits went EVERYWHERE. I give them cucumber almost daily and they really seem to like it for whatever reason. I'll take a video of it sometime. The clicking is overwhelming lol
