Report it, Set up a camera system (fairly cheap... under 400 bucks where I am. If your fish are worth more then that to you its worth it) Put up NO TRESS PASSING, VIDEO SURVAILENCE AND GUN OWNERSHIP signs lol... Seriously... My place fo work was having break ins... put up FAKE cameras and they stopped. Also had some guys stay over night a few times.

This. personally im all for turning each one of them over my knee.. nothing like embarassing the heck out of a teenager. sadly financial restitution will be hard unless they confess. Hopefully thero parents would discipline them, always disturbs me when kids kill animals and the parenuts dont seem to take it as a hint of things to come.
 
Man whatever happened to just tping a house? Or at the very worst doing donuts in someone's lawn? Times have obviously changed and kids are getting very cruel these days....

Your friend has my condolences. I can't imagine what I would do if someone messed with my little 55 gallon, let alone a giant pond. I hope the culprits are found, and I wouldn't hold him liable for any action he may take. Heck, if you messed with my bichir I'd want to break your jaw.

I would blame some other contaminant. UNLESS he found evidence like an empty bottle or something?

This is just wrong on so many different levels- killing someone's little fish pond.
(and krich, I'm surprised those kids got the best of you)

If only he could set some real effective booby traps & give them another go...
like big-time crazy wilderness pot growers do.
Lol/ JK. but I'd SO want to bust them.
