Project "SRF" The quest for FIREMOUTH perfection

Well guys, heres where it all starts... my first successful Firemouth spawning.

About two and a half weeks ago my fry hatched out and the brood successfully made it through to the free swimming stage.

And now we have about 150 fry all growing and eating well.

I have another pair that I'd describe as full red mask Firemouths... their faces are totally red up to the eyes, which is quite rare. The idea is to raise the best offspring from both pairs and line breed them to gain the perfect Firemouth with the most red spread. These will also be breed for size and quality. What does "SRF"mean? SUPER RED FIREMOUTH

Sounds like an interesting idea, and definitely one that I'd like to see the results of. Not many people are breeding meeki very often, let alone for the betterment of the quality of fish out there.

Thats the idea guys... I love these fish and feel that someone has to move forward with this gorgeous species to bring out their true potential.

lol true.... but when it comes to bringing on fry the dirtier tanks seem to be benifical
 
I actually like some tanks with it haha makes it more natural feeling I guess

The full red mask ones look sick! Firemouths don't seem to get any respect, not that I've seen at least
