lol ive benn wanting a venus too

Me too. I got venus fly trap seeds in high school and tried to grow them but failed miserably. My bonsai trees are a marvel to me cuz I definitely have a black thumb! lol

lol, for myself, I know better than to try to start with seeds, I have trouble growing algae from scratch. Actually I remember seeing a cool carnivorous plant starter kit at a craft store here recently. it came with a variety of carnivorous plant seeds, an enclosed plastic dome to grow them in, and instructions. I think it just required soil. It was in the kid project aisle. Ill end up with one eventually.

Not sure how common they are but the most out of place for my area is probably my papyrus

I plan on buying one for one of my tank refugiums, but I'll be buying a dwarf species. yours looks good, how old is it?

I've tried carnivorous a few times, but most seem to need a dormancy period, and they just never come back. I did have a picture plant for about 3 years, but it too faded away.

I just got it this spring. It was in 6" pot and knee high, once things heated up it grew like wild fire.

Thats fast growing and pretty sweet looking.

I have an oregano plant. It loves the heat. I water it every 3-4 days and it grows like crazy. It wasn't even 20% of this size back in June

Are you planning on eating them? I know regulars start pumping out solanine and chaconine if they're not buried. Just a heads up.

Anyone into the cactus should look up "living rocks", you should get a kick out of having a "pet living rock" if you can find one - N

I do plan on it, but its not gonna be a big amount. Mostly for the experience. I have not found any litterature indicating of any health concerns from doing it. If so no biggie, I honostly just luv growing odd stuff. Like I said earlier im looking for Erythroxylum novogranatense seeds to grow. Im ok with just displaying cool stuff. Its part of the fun

They are actually quite easy to grow, basically you want a soil that has no nutrients, and use something like distilled water to grow it and just make sure it gets plenty of light...
