Salt and piranhas?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not necessarily, he has a huge bio load, not to mention adding numerous un-quarentined fish, if he adds a lesser amount + wc it can only benefit imo.

Id use salt before meds.

No point of getting a separate tank just for that. I'm going to add salt as well as wc. Won't hurt if I add the minimal amount. Half of recommend is what I read? 4 tbs ?

Actually ima just do a wc first then see if it persists.. If it does I will up the temp and add 4-5tbs

Just purchased API salt small box for $3 flat at the lfs that I've been going since forever. Will do a wc as soon as I get home after I'm done with today's internship hours. Can't wait!

Well first things first, I'm get the 40% wc change done. As soon as that is done, I guess I will add 4tbs of API salt. It can tackle many things at once which is extremely beneficial. Thoughts?

I get worried when I add a crawfish....but that's maybe once a month... Just make sure u dissolve it before adding, its also gonna help the fins no matter what, and if u have a little ick prob then it will help, either way not gonna hurt.

My shoals fins have definitely been looking better, and I don't like stress coat cuz of algae growth from the aloe. Salt is natural and it replaces minerals, and at half the dose its fine.
