I can't take the fighting anymore with my pbass, Have a 6-pack of WC Yucao Orinos, all around 4.5, 5.0 inches.

The alpha male is beating on every bass except 1 whenever the lights are on in the tank.

My LFS just received a shipment of tinfoil barbs. They said there between 2-3 inches each.

I wanna give it a shot, I want to get some TODAY, how many should I get? I only have a 90-gallon tank, I only want them for dithers.

My biggest questions are :

Will the tinfoils be able to live in water between 86-88 degrees? Thats what I am keeping my bass at, and will they be able to live on Hikari sinking carnivore pellets?! I am NOT USING ANY OTHER FOOD that may throw my bass off the pellets.

Please any replies would be great, I have 1 foot out the door, I want to go and get these guys ASAP.

Water quality will not be a problem, I have the tank filtered with 2 Eheim Pro 2078e Canisters, and have lots of air/current with an AquaClear 70 Power-head, plus I do DAILY 50 to 80% water changes. Tank is bare no gravel no plants nothing.

50/80% a day??? Wow.... Is this even safe? Sounds like your water is CRISP!!!

The dithers will work as long as they're not smaller than the size they said. I still see them getting eaten in the near future. I would recommend silver dollars because of there body shape

I had my tin foils at 86 for extended time with no problem at all. They ate hikari cichlid gold, nls and just about anything else that i put in, floating or sinking

4to5 tinfoils? If they are two inches thats too small they might geteaten, get the big ones! That temp will be okay for your tinfoils no problem. They will eat anything so your hikaris will be great. Daily 50 to 80 percent water change i think is overkill bro. You dontnhave to change that much:)

:iagree: putting 2-3" tinfoil barbs with 5-6" cichla is a bad idea. Make sure you get ones that are 4.5-6" id say, a 2" would be a snack for your alpha male.

The 50 to 80% WCs might not be necessary now, but if you plan to keep this stock in a 90G, they will be a necessity.

TFBs should be fine at 87-88 assuming you have plenty of surface agitation to keep the oxygen levels up; but honeslty, 88F seems excessive to me.

Don't get tin barbs, they are wussies and can't handle a beating. Get silver dollars, they go great with Cichla, handle the high temps and are found in the same waters. IMO IMO
