350 Gallon setup and journal

What do you all think about putting some 200 micro socks inside of the 100 micro socks? I'm guessing this should increase the mechanical and at the same time the 100's should last longer?

I found a cheaper place than them and I placed the order yesterday morning and they'll be here today. So, I'm very happy with their service. Believe it or not its actually cheaper to buy the two separate than together and I was just wondering if I actually really need it or not.

Got the socks....however I'm still not certain on just a sump. The thing I hate about my 220's sump is that it doesn't clean the stuff off the bottom and in the water column. It does ok on the skimming.

I'm really thinking on just going with canisters....I hate and love planning a new tank lol.

I'm planning a pond filter for my 250 gallon. Love the DIY and the outcome if it becomes successful. You know those giant bucket/canister type pond filters? Those are what I am planning to add into my tank now. I'm going for overfiltering in my tank.

Mine will be over filtered also. I know everyone has a personal preference on filteration. Its just that I don't own a home to plumb a sump like I would want in an adjoining room.

I'm leaning towards either 2 x fx5's and 2 x aquatop 500's or 2 x fx5's and a eheim 2180 (2262). I believe with the two powerheads in their it will keep everything stired up.

Ok, I've made up my mind to do 90 - 125 sump with no baffles, four 7"x16" socks, submersible bio, laguna max flo 4200, another small pump on a turbo twist uv back to sump. Will add 2 x fx5's to this sump also.

I believe this will be enough filteration.
