Help me with an update on the monster catfish sticky!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok, so after a little more research I can say with certainty you have a baby P. tigrinum!!!! Pretty darn sweet!!! Not super common in the hobby. Second to fasciatum for sure. Gonna look killer as an adult!!!

The pattern looks unusual. The body looks a bit strange too for a 12"-er. Does it look deformed or injured to you (other than the broken upper jaw)?

if anyone would like to contribute some good quality pics of their catfish towards this please email them to me @ cliffordkinsman@yahoo.com... When you email me throw in a line or two about how these are your origional pics and that you are giving me (Clifford Kinsman) the right to use them in a professional manner for the better of this site as I see fit. you will retain all rights and this will be a one time educational use for these pics...

Hi Cliff, not sure if all you want at this stage is pics. My pics are very far from even adequate quality and there are way too many to send you by email. I'd need to a full day searching them out and burning a DVD :) But I am sure you'd use only 1/100th of them, so this emailing/DVD excersize would be 99% futile. If you can use any of my pics at all, could we arrange it like that: I see you are a nice, responsible, enthusiastic, knowledgeable gentleman and surely our leader, who will not abuse his given rights.. so when you see my pics you like to use and you know for sure they are mine (of course, can confirm with me too if in doubt), you freely can. BTW, 99% of them are on PlanetCatfish. Some repeats are on MFK. OK?

Here are some:

Thanks guys. Be sifting through pics for a while. I really need a lot of pics of various large catfish for what I am planning. Will be raiding my own old pics on here as well since I lost them all a long time ago as well.

The neurocranium is definitely a bit off, maybe due to an injury as you suggest. Other than that looks like a tigrinum from what I can see. I've seen them in the past with heads a bit like that. It looks a bit unusual for the size yes. May have to wait til it develops a bit more also. I'm very interested to see how it develops. A lot of what I see people passing off tigrinum are actually fasciatum or various other species. I've always had an issue with various sites descriptions of the tsn species. I have seen other baby tsn that look almost identical to this one being sold as tigrinum. Maybe I was just a bit too excited about an ID the other day. I still put it between the three species stated earlier. I've had to rule out other species for various reasons.

your welcome to grad anything you need out of my sig and if in any video you want a still shot just give me the time in the video and i will make you a still.

I appreciate it!

Edit: of coarse my pics didn't work. I will try uploading again. I'm still confused though if you want us to post pics here or email them to you.

Four line pim

commencing file dump. the tsn and paroon sharks are not my fish. the rest are(were). Also, striped raphael and four line pim catfish have known to exceed 12". just making sure you remember(know) so you don't exclude them. another thing is that i have a bunch of channel catfish pictures from when he was a 3" baby to a 14"er before he died of parasite. and it only took him 8 months to do it. i just wanted to add those photos separately.
