Ladies of mfk...

.............i just take her shopping in the few months leading up to christmas and pay attention to the type of things she's looking at or beyotching about prices (ecoli suggested this idea too). i just don't think the tell me what you want or order what you want with my money idea works in your 20s. i find it hard to believe that later on in life after you've been living with each other for so long that you don't just KNOW what they want from your daily interactions. At that point don't you just go buy what you want yourself anyways?
Eddie you've already worked out know how to do it- you didn't post the question. Shopping with her is great. but lots of guys won't do that, (they'd rather be put on a torture rack) so talking about things can really help.

As for all our years together, he may know I want something, but that doesn't mean he can pick the exact item. Nor I, for him.
You know, it's like choosing filters for someone else can be an epic FAIL.
and yeah, now we are more likely to "just go buy what we want.." but the importance of us agreeing on it still rises in direct proportion to the cost.
We're not made of money & we value our relationship.
;-)

Well personally shopping with her won't work because a) she has school then work hasn't had a day off in about 3 months. And b) I do the shopping, she doesn't handle stores well. I'm debating buying some kind of spa package or some kind of relaxation bit since school ends dec 20th for her.

If she likes being pampered occasionally then that could be a really good idea, especially if she is overworked and stressed out from finishing school, a day of relaxation could go over really well.

Your time, understanding, and attention is often the best gift. Anything I really want that I can afford and provide for myself, I will. It is consideration and the gift of oneself that most people desire. A gift is cool, but it depends on what you "need". Do something that is not monetary if you are married/long term, and you will probably be OK. Otherwise jewelry is usually cool. I’ve been married for a wile, so “money” gifts come out of the same pot. LOL
