i still wouldnt go anything below a 150 gallon. with a 150G you can do a fluval Fx5 with a aquaclear 110 and a 300 watt heater. a 150 watt heater can heat a 75 just fine. but try to go for a 150G, atleast anything above a 75. if you dont want to add anything but him, then 125G min.

Yeah i agree he will defiantly need a 125G with he is full grown but for now i am just going to upgrade to a 75 and see how things go. So is a FX5 a good filter for a 75 gallon tank?
When full grown?? The bass will out grow your 75,90 and a 125 in a year....but hey, what do i know.

X2. To OP, Most 125g have the same 18" footprint as a 75g or 90g, so a 125 is not an upgrade for a 12+" bass. You will need to go to a min of 24" footprint preferably a 30". So min 180g or 240g, preferably 300g or 350g or bigger. When I recommend the 75g it's for a grow out for "bit", maybe 6 months at most.

Looking at your bass from your other threads, It looks to me to be a Guyana ocell (Slower growers the French Guiana Ocells and brokos) you can pull off a 75gal for a year. Since your bass is 6.5" now, you will have 6-8 months to upgrade your tank. As for filter goes, a fx5 with all trays media will work.
