It's ok smallmouth, like any technology it gets cheaper as time goes on.... I provided "QUIET" a lot of wrong info? Lol

Leds took over aquarium lighting, cars, flashlights, house lighting, police cars, tvs and on and on, 1080p is 1080p my friend and eventually in 2-3 years plasmas will be outdated just like tube teleys, if your still around then you can eat your words.... :p

Ah man, I guess this is why this forum is called MonsterFishKeepers, and not MonsterTVowners...Go pay a visit to the avforums and see how little support you will get for LED tvs
Did no one read the article majorhavok posted? Or the review of that Absolutely beautiful Sharp 70"?
Not trying to bash on the owner, but having seen that TV in person so many times, it has the worst Motion Blur I have ever seen, let alone what the reviewers say about that and LED TVs in general.

LEDs took over everything you just said because they are BRIGHT (the #1 marketing gimmick that sells many consumers when they first walk into a store and see the brightest LED TV thinking its the best picture)
1080p is 1080p....that is just plain funny. Can you please explain how a 1080p resolution works across a gas screen vs. an LED-LCD screen with dynamic contrast ratio in mind?
Plasmas have NOT been outdated for the past years, are still the BEST TVs on the market, and if they ever will be outdated, by lets say, OLEDs, the price difference will be astronomical. You sir, have already ate your own words several times. Keep believing what you like, the facts remain.

Not marketing, personal preference. If I want tv to look like a gaudy comic book, I'll go with a plasma.

Like I said a few posts above, when accurate color rendition is needed, pros use LCD screens. If plasma technology was that good, it would be used in various applications and not just home cinema. But it's not, so it isn't.

Couldn't have said it better +1 +1

Its pretty pointless to argue because your just arguing about the tv you have, which is fine, just note yours may NOT always be the best! Panasonic makes a good plasma but its 2012 atm, give it time and 2.5k$ is a lot of money for a teley, I'd rather spend it on my fish and animals imo

Well, mine, and plasmas are the best, thank you.
Where did you come up with $2.5? Is that the price of your average 55" LED TV? lol
My comparison showed earlier how a $1k Panasonic 50" ST50 is currently the 3rd best TV on the market and dominates every $1k++ LED TV on the market, other than the $5k ELITE (Which comes from some of the engineers who used to make the Pioneer KURO plasmas)

My 240 is the newer model 240 refresh rate. I can assure that there is no motion blur as I am an avid sports fan. At then end if the day, you have your preference, I have mine. But I also have a 70" tv, do you?

You are right, you will have your preference, and I will have mine.
You do have the newer model, but there is a lot of controversy out there if 240Hz makes a difference vs the 120Hz.
Here's an article
http://www.pcworld.com/article/182299/hdtv_refresh_rates.html

Plasmas use a sub-field system. This means they are normally 60hz, but the plasma cells flash 10 times with each frame that appears, thus creating 600Hz. Virtually 0 motion blur.
And to answer your question, I do not have a 70" LED TV.
I do, however, have a 60" Panasonic GT30 which was last years 2nd best plasma on the market (Mine was $1.4k on sale); paired with Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin for audio. Im satisfied with it just like you are with your setup. BTW in this pic, I have all the lights on in the background and you can see reflection is little of an issue as I barley appear in the picture.

Plasma technology is the equivalent of the halogen bulb in the lighting world. It will slowly become obsolete. LCD displays are used EVERYWHERE. Why? Pixel density.

Show me a plasma display that can achieve the pixel density of an LCD screen. As of today we have phones with 5" LCD screens with 1080p resolution.

The next phase in display tech will be OLED/AMOLED and it's already being used in smart phones.

The black blacks argument is a joke. I don't need black colors to look like they were colored in with a permanent marker. That is NOT a true black as you guys call it.
