Tank prepped and ready for TATF (in transit)

Awesome, he'll learn to love the extra swimming room in the 55. I do think the dithers will help, especially if you pick a calm, schooling type that he can mimic. Seems like they will somewhat pick up on the behaviors of the other fish in the tank, if you pick up some calm dithers he should stay calm, if you pick up some curious/active dithers then he should lean towards that. At least that's what I've seen to be true between mine and sm0ke's - two completely different types of behavior (his is housed with altum angelfish, and mine with the tetras). That's the most obvious difference that I can find between the two.

So what's the new fish??? :popcorn:
 
Nothing special really, it's a silver pike. I'll pick it and some dithers up tomorrow. They're gonna be getting me one more pike eventually but the supplier only had one at the time. lol

My sister in law let me borrow her DSLR for a few days, so I'm trying to figure out how to use this thing before I have to give it back to her ;)

I think these 2 came out decent, still learning though. Hopefully I'll get some better ones up before she takes the camera back. At least you can see the colors coming in pretty well on these pics.

Are those pictures really showing true to life color? If so, holy....!

Try to get a good side view picture with that camera that shows his lateral line scales.

Did you use the flash in those pictures?
 
I don't think the flash was on in those pics. These next two pics had the flash on, they're a little oversaturated (I had a friend fix them with a program since they came out dark) but they looked pretty good to me so I'll post them here.

Awh man pictures were moved or deleted. I just ordered my TATF as well from fugupuff. Can't wait for this guy to come home. I took some of the advice in this thread about getting dithers. My vatf is following them quite nicely. So close to it eating pellets. It chomped on one but spit it out.
 
The more clear pics he has farther up the thread show the colors well, and the ID thread in my sig has a new picture in it that shows a ~6" tatf's colors well.
