There's nothing wrong with a PH of 7 or even higher. The problem is when you try to change it or in this case a extremely heavily stocked tank. I wouldn't worry about PH once you get all of the parameters sorted out.
The ph is okay from the tap as long as there are no ammonia in the water. Once your tank is cycled, then you don't need to worry about it.

Ok. A far larger tank is in the works. Planning has begun. As far as heavily stocked tanks, youtube mfk and explain what you see. I'm not the first nor the last to do this and my problem is that I have been over feeding. Now that I noticed this I want help not critisismto get thing back in order.
