It's next to the house heating vent so the air passes through the stand and into the tank, while still heating the house.

if you use a large drill bit can just make as many holes as you want.my 300 watt heater fit in the 1 and 1/2 inch diameter pvc,you can buy a long length,4 ft or more is cheap.then cut it with a small hand saw.i bought some other pvc pieces that have pre-cut holes,bends,Y-shapeHow did you put it all together?

I run an FX5 and I have two of the 300 watt Hydors in line. I simply changed the OEM hose out to Vinyl tubing got some PVC fittings and barbed fittings and made it work. With two heaters plumbed in on the one line you dont loose any of the flow on the FX5. I run this on a 210g.
