Male and female for sure? Dovii

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Any samples pics? All my dovii are from wild parents. Although im finding it difficult to raise even one that look like one of the extremely blue store bought ones ive seen here like jagsters.

Ok im gonna raise the sibling alone then. And as for my smaller new batch i will add a sister to my 2-3" boy as soon as they catch up to his size. He left them in the dust, the others are still 1"

Your dovii is still pretty blue. What does his diet consist of? And is he in with any tank mates?

Yes one of the girls is very very plain but recently one has developed that spotty spangling on her face. No blue in any girl though. The boy is tough to photograph, he hides in his little tree trunk all day.

sorry op, back on topic!-)

Well once they reached 3" i put them with my ca sa community in a 125 they are the smallest fish in the tank. That boy though had an entire tree trunk decor u can see in the pics and heaven forbid anyone go near it or in it. That is his! The two females are with him too. They hang out together with no color.

I think it might be the same pics.

I have noticed something though. Within last few days actually. He has suddenly had a spurt and is noticably taller and longer than his sisters. Also (although my lights dont show this only from certain angles) had become more blue and his peppering has become more obvious. I changed his diet a bit, i added a color flake that is heavy on spirulina along with frozen foods and a staple pellet. Once he get another 1" maybe the plan is to separate him and a sister like suggested into their own large tank.
