aquaclear 110 vs 2 fluval c4'

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I 'd am not trying to be snide but all you folks that are saying YEAH AC110 all the way!!! actually either own or have used a C4. In my case I own both. I love the C Series Filters I have been just kicking back for a C5 that would be one awsome filter? In this case I'd still say 2 C4's double is always better to me and the Mechnical is way better on the C4 hands down without a thought and you can double the Bio if you skip the Carbon. I love my AC110 so dont take this as I'm not putting it down. The C is new and is at some point going to be the cousin to the AC's or should I say the Aquaclears will be remarketed as Fluvals.

AC110, best HOB on the market. Often duplicated, never bettered. Bought my first one in 1978, and still using it with all its original parts.

you REALLY cant go wrong either way....I would do ac110(more versitile ...)

The point is simple. You have to run 2 c4's instead of 1 AC110 to get the same gph. What's the argument?

OK this is my fault I should have used another quote.....Sorry. And your point is correct also...no arguement. On the same token my quote I don't think needs a explaination ither. I do believe that I started my response that It was not my intent to be snide. I just see all the folks with the normal response AC110' Yeah!!! If I was not clear above my point was that I bet few if not any of those responders own or have used a C4. To answer his question truefully you need to have used both as he was looking to see which he should purchase? It simple how do you pass a judgement if you have not the experance with both? Or answer his question without Bias? To the thread owner please excuse me I also owe you an apology as It again was not my intention to turn your thread into a arguement. I was just trying to say I own both and while I love my 110 I think the two C4's will serve you better from my experance with both. Also two gives you a backup. You just see it all the time on here people only have to mention certain products (and we all know what they are) and the other dosn't stand a chance. How can you say not to buy something if you have never tryed it? To all of the people that have responded on this post in favor of the AC110 do a single one of you own and run a Fluval C4?

^^ true, but halfway down page 2 the op asked if 2 AC110's and a Hot Magnum and some circulation pumps would be suitable, which Is most likely why everyone is suggesting the AC's. He's planning on multiple filters

Totally get your point of having 2 filters, as I myself have multiple filters on every tank I own. A simple insurance policy.....

you REALLY cant go wrong either way....I would do ac110(more versitile ...)

LP the C's gives you the same choices just in a slightly different configuation. They thought it out well. I guess I need to be quiet and back out before I get in more trouble:chillpill:. In this case they are the same and you can't go wrong with ither. I was just trying to give the underdog a chance as in my opinion they are both from the same company and the newer product does offer fixes and some improvements over the old one. I was responding to the origanal question.
