One just has to give it a chance, Master David.

Maybe, or be slaughtered in the streets. Remember what I said about revolution and its real meaning ;)

And what does that achieve? You will replace one group of people with another group that will do the same thing.

what 'revolution' means in Chinese( mandarin or cantonese? 革命,
Gémìng) , or at least as you have described it, does not seem to be the same as it means in English, or Russian, or French or Spanish or or or...... :)... (A revolution (from the Latin 'revolutio', "a turn around") is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time)

Just a dose of reality for people who have forgotten what real revolution is. I dare say Chinese literal meaning is quite accurate. See Egypt, Libya, Syria, etc for example...

The middle east is still in observation ( tough personnaly i have never had a doubt of the outcome, which is more evident every day, ie in Egypt )

Sometimes people given the right to vote choose someone different than the US would.

Sometimes they make stupid choices. So have we!

Remember that one of the great political forces that worked to curb some of the excessive powers of individuals / corporations in this country was (Republican and late Bull Moose) Theodore Roosevelt.

“The man of great wealth owes a peculiar obligation to the state because he derives special advantages from the mere existence of government.”

or how about this:

"The true friend of property, the true conservative, is he who insists that property shall be the servant and not the master of the commonwealth; who insists that the creature of man's making shall be the servant and not the master of the man who made it. The citizens of the United States must effectively control the mighty commercial forces which they have themselves called into being... The absence of effective State, and, especially, national, restraint upon unfair money-getting has tended to create a small class of enormously wealthy and economically powerful men, whose chief object is to hold and increase their power." —Theodore Roosevelt, "Square Deal" speech (1910)

My take(s):

Distribution of wealth goes against human nature. Of course people want what others have and frequently feel (possibly justifiably) that they need it more or would spend it more wisely. The fact that they either didn't have the opportunity or take advantage of them doesn't phase those who want. There will always be the haves and the have-nots, but the "give me that" people are seldom willing to use force when they have the majority and think they can use "democracy" to take from others. Conversely the wealthier minority is always willing to use force to protect what is theirs. Survival of the fittest dictates those willing to use force will always overcome those who can't or won't.

Like Ben Franklin said: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Liberty will win..

Or Margaret Thatcher - "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. "

As for death penalty, it's a non issue for the most part. It could work if utilized properly, but it isn't and costs way more to have a death penalty than not. Either have a system and use it A LOT and be willing and diligent to do the best possible to prevent wrongful people, but also be willing to accept that mistakes will happen. OORRRRR just don't have a death penalty. Either would be fine, but our current system is somewhere in between so it doesn't work.

You say, "There will always be the haves and the have-nots, but the "give me that" people are seldom willing to use force when they have the majority and think they can use "democracy" to take from others." I strongly disagree with this statement (amongst others).
I think that it is the elite who could arguably be called the "give me that" people. There are millions of hardworking people who work 40 hrs+ per week and don't earn a livable wage. There are millions of people denied medical care and subsequently dying from treatable conditions. Meanwhile, WE ALL pay high taxes. Then we carry the debt while banks and corporations get huge tax breaks, loans and bailouts worth $12.8 trillion according to Bloomberg News
http://www.pbs.org/wnet/need-to-know/economy/the-true-cost-of-the-bank-bailout/3309/.
This article says 7.7 trillion but either way, that's the money that you see missing from your check every month.
http://theweek.com/article/index/221883/the-federal-reserves-breathtaking-77-trillion-bank-bailout
And where did the money go?
http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-ba...uses-for-ceos-of-bailed-out-companies/5321116
Towards raises and cash bonuses for banking CEOs and executives. No wonder why they're getting wealthier and wealthier while the rest of us fall farther and farther into debt.
