Nice fish, but as stated scombs don't tend to do too well. If you make a rushed decision now just to get that fish in your tank asap, you may regret it later. I would personally try to get a confirmed redtail or armatus. Just on a different level IMO. If you really want it, maybe you should have it shipped - sometimes it's really worth the extra shipping cost.

x1 looks armatus not red tailed. Also text him back saying its a scomb and try and score it cheap!!!

Why would you purposefully lie in order to exploit the other person for money? Your integrity should be worth more than that. Just my two cents..

I thought scombs had a yellowish or goldish color rather then silver and black.

not really. Depends on the glare of the lights.

Well, on a sad note, my beautiful 24" silver committed suicide yesterday while I was at work by jumping out of his tank.

The only possible silver lining I can see is that I may now have room for a new fish. I wonder if there's enough room in the tank for him to get along with my now lonely Odoe. Though the mala at the bottom of the tank is ever-troubling.....

Did you keep the aro with the mala? Then i guess you can try the odoe with the mala.

Yeah. The three of them were together. I think I'm going to move my smaller silver into the 180 and possibly get the scomb for my 120. The small silver is still bigger than my Odoe, so hopefully that'll work out. My concern is the Mala. That guy used to pseudo-challenge my 2' aro, and he barely 12" himself.

scoring a fish for cheap, is scoring a fish for cheap.... No need to start a fight over nothing.

I do not recall starting a fight, as much as I am questioning your less-than-honest ethics in this hobby. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. You do not need to screw other people just so you can "score" something for cheap - that is sociopathic.

Dude just stop, cause we all know its a scomb and if you have that much need to pick out other peoples problems In such detail then your the one with the problem.... if almost any fish keeper walked into a store and saw a black arow sold as a silver they would pick it up... you know this, just cause you have to pick on other people for what they say doesn't mean your intellegent or better then anyone else... let me know when you become a perfect person.... then you can judge me.

So... I have a problem because I do not condone scamming other people in this hobby? My point is - if we tolerate this sort of mentality, we are tolerating thievery IMO. At least out of respect to the vendors on this forum, you should keep that fraudulent thinking to yourself - the one you'd lie to other people in order to convince them the fish in question is worth less than it is. It doesn't take an 'intellegent' nor perfect person to act with a little bit of honesty. Perhaps you will get over your sense of entitlement one day.

Congratz you know some big words IMO if you don't even know what type of fish your selling you don't deserve what its worth... adleast do the research and find out what fish it is... seriously no one would ever scam or do anything to vendors on this site, if someone doesn't know what the fish is and putz it for $60 and they say its a scomb then if you think its something better your should buy it for that price... like I suggested... everyones entitled to their own opinion. Notice how you never denied that you would go into a store selling a black as a silver arow and buy it.... its not stealing or scamming its finding a good deal... like when you go on craigslist and find a 125g tank for like $75 your not going to be like dude that tanks worth more bump the price up to $150 and ill buy it... no you would buy it at 75$ and not tell them anything... I also love how you blew a small comment out of context...
