Recently I lost my 4 and a half year old Esox Niger randomly and now have an empty 300 gallon aquarium, my dimensions are 96x30x24 and I was wondering if you guys feel that this would be a decent size for an Armatus? I haven't ventured into keeping tropical fish in a while and have always liked the Payara. I know they can get quite large but it seems it's rare for them to get much larger than 24+ in the home aquarium.
I guess what I'm looking for is to see if you guys think with my footprint if I would be able to house an Armatus if not for life then at least a long while? I don't like really going for fish that I can't provide for for life and if my tank isn't sufficient should I just get 5-6 Tats? If I do go with an Armatus it will likely be the only fish in the tank except for maybe some small dithers like silver dollars, or tetras.
If this isn't something that I can realistically do then I'll probably just end up with a jardini or something along those lines.
