OUT OF ALL THE PARACHROMIS GENUS???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My favorite in the genus that I have never owned is the Dovii... My favorite that I do have is the managuense.... Jaguar cichlid..The last time I had Jags prior to the ones I have now was well over 10 years ago.... The Jags that I've been seeing other people with over last 5 or 6 years or so convinced me to get them again when I had the room.... I have two because I really wanted to grow out a nice male for my 120 gallon tank and I recognized early on that the first one that I bought was a female..the male I have I've bought while on vacation in Philadelphia... I have had him for just over 3 months and he's growing very nicely.. turning into a glass banger and developed pattern that lives up to the name jaguar cichlid...here a photo 5 days after i got him already starting to get bigger
The next is my favorite pic(i wish i had a high end camera when i got that one)
And the last most current pic ..showing his change 3 months after the first pic....

Nice Jag!

i like how the jags have an almost eel type appearence , their body is long and thier definitly built for speed, i heard they prey on birds in the wild wen they land on the water

gramode looks exactly like a smaller dovii with less blue coloration

Does that change the genus of a sp.?
Answer: no.
False is false and it's not up to the hobby to classify fish sp. The difference lies in the genes and bone structure. My h. Deppi has similar colors, so does that mean its a parachromis?

If a Mota could reach Dovi size, I would say mota all the way. but just based on sheer size it's always forever dovi.

This guy hands down. But he was a wimp. Had to let him go.
