Several active members in the saltwater subforum had fish in their tank within 2 weeks.

The age of the live rock doesn't matter, just because you buy live rock thats 10 years old doesn't mean you tank is "magically" instantly cycled. Your tank won't be fully cycled for at least 4 months.

Im referring to live rock that hasnt just been 'seeded', but has been the primary means of filtration in someone else's tank.

You can cycle it in a week using additives.

Are you using SeaChem Stability? It's a great product.

I know my tank is cycled. If the primary reason i have been waiting a month is to let the tank cycle (which it already has) i dont see why i cant get a fish in 15 more days.

You can cycle it in a week using additives.

Those additives don't completely cycle a tank in a week it just makes it more safe for a hardy fish within the first few days.

Are you using SeaChem Stability? It's a great product.

I used a saltwater specific one. I think stability is only for freshwater. Saltwater bacteria is different than freshwater so i know any additive products labeled for both fresh and salt use is full of crap and shouldnt be trusted.

No the internet is not always correct but when 99% of links say less than 4 months it means just that. If 1 website out of thousands says otherwise i know their full of crap but not when thousands say otherwise.
