Rescued 2' silver arowana, need advice

From what I read it seems to be a temp pond until his tank is ready.

Yea the pond is temporary, and I would keep him but i know it will kill my jardini that is a lot smaller, and I still consider taking something out of a bad situation and putting it in a good home regardless if its my tank or not is rescuing it... And I always consider any advice I have been offered and the advice about the scales was good, I just don't get why you had to add that bit to it, even if it was true that I was in it for profit its irrelevant to this thread, but enough said about it so lets continue with the health of the fish

Very sad news, I found him dead just now :( tried to revive him for a while incase he had just jumped and knocked himself out but he was gone, not sure what caused it unless there was an underlying issue from the previous poor conditions... I will check the water perams tomorrow but I'm fairly sure they are ok

I saw that the fish died but I have to differ about the catfish. It looked a bit like a mystus leucophasis at first and those can and will kill fish much larger than them. A few years back I had an 8 incher that almost killed a 7 inch red ear slider turtle He repeatedly bit the turtles head and tail and left some pretty serious marks, a sickly aro wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. They are insanely mean, emphasis on the mean part.

No it def wasn't the catfish and it is 100% a leiarius pictus not any type of mystus cat, if if was a mystus I would agree but it's not and to be honest I think it was just to sick, since I got him he looked as if he was having problems breathing but I was hoping it was just stress :( at least I have him a fighting chance I guess

Im so sorry to hear this.You took it from a horrible enviroment and gave him a great place to live and did everything you could do to give him a better life so your should be happy about that.It was an act of pure selflessness and I proud of you for that.
 
Sorry to hear, the arowana was pretty beat up and likely not very healthy. Add in the mix of being transfered multiple times was prolly just to much for it.
