life spans of fish

The longest-lived fish I've had so far were Acanthophthalmus kuhlii with 16+ years.

How big is that guy!?
 
He's only about 7" but very wide:) ( not the bigest ive seen by far) I had 2 that I had in a 125 with a bunch of discus I set that tank up in Feb 1990 the 1 clown is the lone surviver
 
The longest-lived, with documentation, is Grandad. The Shedd Aquarium's AUL. He's eighty but, considered to be in his hundreds. He arrived at Shedd in 1933 FULLY GROWN.

A few koi in Japan's Royal Gardens are thought to be at the 150 years range. While formal documentation exists, it was recognized from artist paintings and drawings that a few identical koi patterns have been rendered by different artists for a century and a half.

Thats pretty incredible. Didn't know anything but tortoises made it that far.
