Iam looking to buy fish food in bulk and want everyones opinions on what is the best pellets and flakes for all my central and south american cichlids. Iam currently feeding them Hikari cichlid gold pellets, but some of them don't seem to like and I also feed them a spirulina based large flake food from the LFS that the others seem to like ( which I have been told that the spirulina is the best for them).here is my stock Stock list includes: 1 Andinoacara Stalsbergi (True Green Terror), 1 Heros SP Super Red Severum, 1 Gold Severum, 1 Placidochromis Phenochilus(Star Sapphire), 1 Vieja Synspilum(Fire Head), 1 Hypselecara Temporalis (Purple Chocolate),1 Microglanis Cf. Iheringi (Bumble Bee Cat), 1 Jack Dempsey. In a 125 gallon

Thanks for all your opinions.

I mix it up with hikari, NLS and a aquaponic food thats high in protein for the staple. its made from salmon left overs, I find my fish that refuse nls or hikari always eat this food.

There will never a best pellet imo. most are good but I find mixing them up is the best i also feed veggies and prawns here and there.

I have only ever had oscar cichlids but I used to feed them hikari cichlid gold as a staple some veggies once a week and everything else I could find as a treat, things like worms, small fish, crickets, locusts and pretty much anything else I could find that I knew hadn't been near chemicals :)

i put 2 different hikaris and a Kensfish pellet and NLS in a container and mix it all up. It seems to work for me.

I've had good results with the Tetra brand, being Doromin, Prima and the new Cichlid Colour!.. I also like to feed them Frozen Prawns and Pollock, which are both very cheap to provide as part of a staple diet. Mix it up a bit.. It's all about variety

omega one seems good... aqueon is underrated ..imo
