Its not! I have no problems with horses being slaughtered.

It is not about horses being slaughtered "though it breaks my heart since i do love and respect horses" ... it is about the humane ethical treatment of all animals.....

How is raising any animal for food consumption supposed to be humane and ethical? One is going to raise it, kill it and eat it. Unless you eat just fruit, nuts, and vegetables, you are being hypocritical.

i think it should be this... if you want to eat an animal, kill it in the wild ( like deer season, mind you i dont hunt though, hate killing animals.. ) i dont think you should raise to kill... those animals feel close to you.. they dont know they are being raised to be killed, how would you feel if you knew you were being raised just to be killed? not good, hurt, sad i bet, so i think raising to kill should be illegal, make it like deer season... just my opinion...

Industrialized meat processing is flat out gruesome and will continue to be so in order for it be affordable. It's about to be less SAFE too with furloughs of meat inspectors.

I have no problem with people who raise and slaughter their own animals because the quality of life for the animal while it is raised tends to be vastly better (stockyards and pig farms are VILE). They can also provide the attention necessary to make sure killing the animal is done correctly. I understand though that this is not acceptable for those who feel that killing should not be done at all.

Also, I really cannot advocate for one animal over another as being more worthy of being spared.

i quess you did not notice how the horses were left injured and no food or water in the kill pens......in baking heat....... you did not see how they traveled .. stuff in an over loaded trailer.. injuring each other ........ i quess you missed the entire big picture of what ethical treatment entails........ what ever

agreed! if they are going to keep doing it this way, atleast put the animal out of its misery so they dont have to suffer.....
