2 foot Armatus eating 9 inch Mackerel

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's freakin' awsome! I love seeing a clean fish with pleanty of room, outstanding!

Aquanero - Thanks

Aquaticmatt - I don't think he has. I know in the wild they can get up to 40 inches. So, if I take care of him and he lives long enough I think he will grow over 30 inches. This will probably take at least another 5 years though.

I'm going to say that it will be a feat if you can get him larger than 30 inches in the home aquarium, you may actually be the first to possibly do it if it does happen.

Seiichi/Samurai-H posted one from Japan a few years back that had been raised for 10 or so years and was just at 30". Not saying it's not possible but it seems their captive size is definitely not the same as their wild potential. Although we still really don't have a good understanding as not many with super huge tanks have kept them for any great amount of time.

Awesome Armatus and Aimara though, simply stunning.

i've never seen an armatus push more than 2 feet though. good luck!
