I was asking because earlier someone mentioned brackish and you said that you have always used salt.I wasn't sure if you were aware that aquarium salt is not the kind that is used to make brackish water.[/QUOTE

No I wasn't aware of that. But I'm wondering from your experience if you think I would need to run bw.

I have never kept silver dats in brackish water...thought about trying it though...as already mentioned, some do better than others without it.If you do go that route you will need the same salt mix that is used for saltwater aquariums but a lesser amount per gallon of water.

I woke up this morning to him staring at me from the corner of the tank. I think he's doing better, but not out of the woods, he's still a bit wobbly while swimming. He took 1 piece of krill. Fingers crossed got till the end of this week before the praizi treatment is done, then it's on to an anit bacterial treatment.

Vaccumed all the gravel, did a small water change. cleaned the filter out, and earlier I called the lfs and asked if I could use praxi with melafix to help with the bacterial infection, I was told that its ok to use the two at the same time. Just to run the melafix at a smaller dose.

My only concern about doing that is the kelbs.
I doubt they would take that very well...I would have waited until the end of the week when the prazi treatment would have been complete before doing any vacuuming but it shouldn't be a big deal.

I'm not to worried about it myself, I was running a double dose of prazi the last 2 day's. Lfs recommend to get the concentration up. Said it would be a good idea to change some water out before adding the melafix.

Melafix started to starve him of oxygen, even with the air stone I already had in the tank. So I fixed a air stone to one of the return's. He's fine now. Lol maybe a bit over kill but id rather have that.
