taking my big dog to get checked out at the vet this afternoon. she's developed an abnormal, sort of like a throaty "hack" cough (def not kennel cough or anything regular). when she gets excited her breathing is loud & sounds rough.
since she's almost 15, I'm worried :-(
actually been scared to take her in.

I'm home alone, she's big & can't jump up inside my truck anymore :-/

Had a friend with a dog that did that. Said it was an allergy. I have a shep mix that coughs because of a partially obstructed larynx.

no that's just gross ..brushing teeth is part of hygiene and keeping your self healthy ..not shaving my legs does not make them rot and fall off..or smell bad :P

I honestly don't see the difference. Most men see hairy legs as smelling bad and rotting anyways

I had a dog that did that, the vet said it was due to a colapsed trachea. She was a shepard mix too so not a small dog as discribed in the link below.

I'm totally paranoid it's either a growth down in her throat &/or a heart condition...
