I grab it with my bare hands, then drive home with it sit on my lap! How did you go from moving a fish from one tank to a new tank to transporting? How do you transport it then? didn't you get your fish from plastic tubs from the Death Row?

I'm talking about captive raise. How do I know how fast Armatus grows in the wild? How do you know 100% Armatus will grow to 16"-18" in the wild? There are more chance it wouldn't make it to 1 years old than to grow to 16"-18". You don't need a massive tank to start with for it to explode in size. Try 60gal tank.Burned by JL again! In the wild, 100%. Anything is possible for a monster fish but I doubt most keepers has a massive tank to start with for it to explode in size. most of these fish hop from growout to growout. Mine is around 10 months old and it's roughly 10 inches.
That's what I'm talking about...its been a year for mine^^ its actually 16-18"LOL
Armatus seems to grow faster in small tank than in big tank. Sounds crazy, but it could get to food better in small tank than in big tank. Also, Armatus grows faster when you keep one per tank than keep a group. The bigger the group, the slower they grow. Too busy to fight and stab each other than to eat...I have to get a new net after a Dorado ripped right through it, pretty sure the big Clown Knife found the same hole and just ripped it even worse. But I know we're spot on with the clam shell netting method (using 2 nets)
Sounds like we're also the only ones that understand the growth potential of Armatus..... Mine never grew quite as fast as you mentioned but I also raised them in little tanks and had nothing bigger then a 180 at the time. I'll keep better tabs on growth this time, and have some room for them to stretch out.![]()

I still don't know how do you come from moving a fish from one tank into a new tank to transporting fish. You try to make thing clear when you do not even clearly know what you're talking about. There's no "mocking us!" Only you're the one who mention plastic tub, and only you're the one who's hurt and can't take other adviseyou were mocking us for transporting fish in plastic tubs. Just trying to make thing clear.
get a drink cooler. Or a tupperware tub (20-30 gals). They're way better.
my armatus is very giddy too. but for some reason that moving day, I managed to scoop it out with an undersized net with no problem at all. The tubs are good since the fish can clearly see a background color so they don't bump on the sides. I think 25% water left is key. Experience may vary of course. My fish gets nervous during WC but once there is no water to swim around into, it'll just calm down.
